Morning, Hoop Heads! What a day yesterday, huh?

It ended nicely here at Pool Central, as my Demon Deacons of Wake Forest pulled out an overtime victory over Texas with some last-second heroics by Ishmael Smith (love that guy). Very rarely do you see a team go down by 8 points in overtime and still win, so now that my heart is beating again I can get back to the business of the pool update.

Anyhoo, tough opening day for Georgetown (sorry Aunt Holly), Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and a few of the other upset victims out there. I can�t understand how G-Town was playing for the Big East title last Saturday (and playing well), and now they are done. Goes to show how quickly it can all end in this Madness they call March. Or March they call Madness. Whatever.

I know it�s early, but I�m going to go ahead and beat the holiday rush and declare that I am already sick of the Capitall One �Ivan Brothers� ad campaign (can we go back to �What�s in your wallet?�). I think that might be a new record for fastest shark jumping by an advertisement. To think, with the money they spent on those ads, we could have solved health care. Or at least bought out Coach K�s contract.

OK, so I say this every year, but it is ridiculously early in the pool, and don�t get too high or too low with these results. That being said, two people � David Turner and Last Second � grabbed the early lead by nailing 13 of 16 correct picks in the first day�s play. A whopping 15 people are one game behind them (including yours truly � save it, it won�t last) with 12 points. On to Friday�s play, and Happy Madness!
