Latest Pool Standings

Day 3 is in the books, and Nagalicious just will not let go of that top spot in Jabin's March Madness Charity Pool. In fact, our fearless leader has actually extended the margin, as Nags took a 3-point lead going into Sunday's games.

The big news on Saturday was the departure of our first top seed, Pittsburgh, on a weird late set of a officiating calls (yes, it *was* a foul) to Butler, which is in the weird position of being labeled a Cinderella even though it lost last year's title game by 2 points! So Pitt is out, and Charles Barkley has more ammunition for his "Big Least" rants (by the way, I just love how Rick Pitino sits there staring straight into space while Chuckles rips his conference a new one!).

So we are starting to get some spacing at the top of the pool -- even though it's still early folks, so don't panic just yet. Nagalicious stands alone at 43 points, followed by Val Torkelson at 40, David Turner and TwoBerries at 38, and seven players deadlocked at 37. Sunday's games are worth two points each, as eight more teams join the Saturday winners in the Sweet Sixteen.

Some interesting games on tap for Sunday -- Marquette-Syracuse means another Big East team will exit, Arizona-Texas looks good, Carolina and Washington square off in Charlotte, and the Duke-Michigan game has some added attention after the recent kerfuffle (does anyone still use that word?) over the Fab Five special.  Note to Grant Hill - When someone calls you "elitist," maybe the best response isn't a well-written but hard-hitting Op-Ed piece in the New York Times? I'm just sayin'.
